Upcoming changes to Username and Password Requirements
Our customer’s online safety and security is important. To help keep your online experience safe, we are making a few enhancements within Online Banking.
You currently have the option to choose an Alternate ID to use in place of your Social Security Number as your Customer Number. Effective, December 3, 2007 all users will be required to select an Alternate ID. The Alternate ID must
- Be between 8 and 20 characters
- contain at least one letter
- Contain at least one number
You Social Security Number will no longer be permitted after your initial logon.
While it is recommended that you change your password frequently, we will now require that you change your password at least every 180 days. Beginning December 3, 2007, if it has been longer than 180 days since the last time you changed your password you, will be required to select a new password.
Also, to prevent unauthorized users from attempting to access your account, we will be limiting your failed logon attempts to three consecutive tries. If you incorrectly enter your password three times, you will be locked out of Online Banking. To regain access, you can click on the forgotten password link and answer the two security questions, or call us at 429-7200 during normal business hours to have our staff assist you.
And remember, we will never ask you to provide us with personal information such as your social security number or logon information by email. If you receive such a request or have replied to such a request, please contact us immediately.
Just another example of our commitment to fraud prevention, everyday and everywhere.
