Letter from the President

December 16, 2016

Thank you for taking the time to look around our web site. If you are reading my letter, you have invested some of your valuable time finding out about our bank, which we really appreciate. While you are here, I want to share a few benefits of banking with us and provide an update on where we are today!

You have heard me say this before… “Lafayette Community Bank is the only locally owned and operated bank in Tippecanoe County.” No other bank in Tippecanoe County can make this claim.

You might be saying to yourself. “Brad, that’s great to know, but money is money, every bank in town offers loans and deposit accounts. What difference does that make?”

To start off, you are not just a number with our bank, you are vitally important to us, we take the time to learn your name, as well as your financial needs. We strive to be consultative and present solutions that fit your individual needs. There is no “one size fits all.”

When you walk into any of our 4 convenient locations, our tellers look up and greet you by name! They may even know you have kids or grandkids and they may even know their names! That’s because our employees really care, and they may very well be your friends or neighbors.

Have you ever called a bank that may not be based right here in Lafayette? Your call might go into an automated answering system. We answer the phone personally at Lafayette Community. We know if you took the time to call us, you might have a question about your account or want to apply for a loan, so we want you to know we are here for you to offer the assistance you need and we do it personally.

Our lenders know a lot about our community, too. Collectively, we have over 60 years of banking experience right here in Lafayette. Local knowledge helps us cut to the chase since we already know the lay of the land. We know that time is really important to you and you need decisions fast. Since we make all our decisions right here, we can respond faster than our competitors.

Since Greater Lafayette serves as our corporate center, this community is our only focus. Our business is here. Our profit stays in our community bank and we give back to our community through our support of no less than 70 charitable organizations each and every year. You will also see us volunteering all over town. We do this because it’s the right thing to do and because we are… Lafayette’s only locally owned bank!

A quick update!

Our bank has been growing steadily over the years. Today we are at $170,000,000 in total assets. This is the largest we have been in our 16 years. It’s humbling to witness the growth in our bank; new customers are coming to us every day with their valued deposits. It’s a huge responsibility and we take it seriously. Our bank has invested heavily in security measures that help safeguard your hard earned deposits.

Our bank has invested heavily into loans that have benefitted individuals, businesses and our local economy. In fact, in the last year we added over $40,000,000 in new loans. Our loan balances are at an all-time record of over $133,000,000. Since 2013 we have increased our loan balances by 50%! This is representative of our commitment to our community. We know that the best way to invest is to invest in local business and families.

Here we grow again!

Lafayette Community Bank is building again! That’s right, it’s been 3 years since we finished our “New” corporate offices at 301 South Street. Now we plan to build a brand new banking center at 2134 Greenbush Street on Lafayette’s north end. The new location is right next door to our current Greenbush location. The new location will offer our customers better access, parking and convenience. We hope to begin construction in the Spring of 2017 and be up and running by late Fall!

Thanks for taking your time to read my letter!

Truly,

Bradley W. Marley
